Brandi Henderson (owner of The Pantry) had her eye on this space for a long time. With The Pantry’s teaching kitchens and its baking, butchery, and cooking classes located next door, Brandi knew it would be the perfect spot to expand her community offerings. So, when the prior dance studio moved out, Brandi looked to update the space to better serve her community of makers. The design is intended to have a light touch, allowing the bright colors of yarn and fabrics to provide texture and visual interest. Careful consideration was given to the electrical needs, ensuring ample power was provided for sewing classes without losing the desired flexibility in layout, including power coming down from the ceiling. A new loft with custom storage, library ladder, and shelving below was added in order to provide more storage while maintaining the open space concept.
