The Shop, Dallas
The Dallas location of The Shop is a luxurious social club and vehicle storage facility for motor enthusiasts, featuring lavish amenities, opulent materials, and design elements inspired by decades of luxury automobilia, including a prominent façade with the club's name in 20-foot-tall block lettering and exclusive members-only spaces with tufted leather furnishings, vintage automobilia décor, and a secret luxury clubroom and cigar lounge.
Located next to an eight-lane highway in central Dallas, The Shop is an elite social club for dedicated motor enthusiasts. Formerly a trucking warehouse, the 46,000 square foot building now houses two stories of lavish, members-only amenities as well as ample vehicle storage with self-service lifts and dedicated on-staff mechanics. Pulling design inspiration from decades of luxury automobilia, the renovation melds edgy industrial grit with opulent materials that appeal to even the most discerning clientele.
The Shop embraces its roadside location, piquing the interest of passing motorists with the club’s name painted in 20-foot-tall block lettering across its billboard-like façade. Inside, the double-height entry space is bisected by a wall of warm wood slats, allowing visitors a peek into the Texan-scale storage room where the members’ pristine cars, trucks, and motorcycles reside. A designated "parking spot” against the entry wall displays a selected vehicle for the motor-curious public to admire. Adjacent to the entry, visitors can refuel at a sumptuous bar and restaurant, with separate spaces available for parties and events.
The members-only spaces are specially designed with motorheads in mind. On the main floor, a restaurant and lounge, swathed in tufted leather, overlook the immaculate vehicles being stored through a wall of glass. Directly adjacent, a spacious meeting area provides a setting conducive to more serious conversation. The back wall of the space is wrapped in vintage automobilia, with posters, models, hubcaps, and heritage gear set within custom shelving. This wall extends through the second floor of the space, transitioning into liquor and glassware storage behind the upstairs bar. The second floor also houses a game area, meeting space, quiet room, and expansive viewing deck which projects over the vehicle storage area. Hidden behind a panel in the second-floor shelving lies the most exclusive space in the building: a secret luxury clubroom and cigar lounge. There, surrounded by wood paneling, richly patinaed leathers, and antique collectibles, members can sit back, sip drinks, and swap stories from the road.
