Communion Restaurant and Bar

Walking into Communion Restaurant and Bar, you are immediately greeted by a sign painted on the floor declaring I AM HOME. That community-driven vision from Chef Kristi Brown and Damon Bomar was clear from the very first meeting, giving us all a north star for the design.  The result is a blend of approachable warmth and sophistication, including cozy leather seating, copper and vintage accents, and vibrant teal hues welcoming you home for what is sure to be an unforgettable meal.

From the beginning, Kristi and Damon wanted to create a space that would reflect their style of food - food inspired by the many food cultures and communities of Seattle. But also, Damon was particularly inspired by the hospitality scene in Atlanta and DC, and wanted to create a space with an elevated style. The result is an approachably swank environment designed to foster community; a place you feel just as comfortable visiting for a special occasion, date night, or to hook up with friends.

The design emphasizes transparency, embracing the restaurant’s corner location with wrap-around windows allowing passersby to check out the activity inside. Low-height banquettes, a large live-edge wood community table, and counter seating create opportunities for casual conversation and connection, which for Chef Kristi, is just as important as the lovingly prepared food and handcrafted cocktails being served.
