This project is a kitchen and primary bath/closet remodel with some fun colorful yet practical design elements for a young couple in Woodinville.
For the kitchen, they wanted a large island and enough counter space for both of them to be in the space comfortably at the same time. We designed a massive (11ft) island for cooking, and then a baking zone to the left side of the kitchen to store baking supplies and do the baking. The design materials bring in warmth through color and wood tones. The mood board above shows color in the cabinetry, while featuring a wood tone base island, and a tile backsplash in neutral tones, but with a playful pattern to bring some interest.
For the primary bath, they wanted an oversized walk-in shower with a large window. We designed a glass shower that has a window with partially frosted glass and then breeze block tile set into the sill on the exterior for an interesting privacy screen. They also really like a terra cotta color, so we incorporated some terra cotta-esque tile for the lavatory back wall, accented by brass fixtures. The existing skylights will give it a nice spa-like feeling.
