Previously an art gallery, the Seattle Downtown Dentist office sought to maintain the original open and airy feel as well as community connection by continuing to bring in local artists to showcase their work. The reception desk greets patients walking in the door with a design that is as much about function as it is form. The angular layout of the reception desk works with the existing columns while providing an intuitive pathway for patients and guests moving between the waiting area and patient rooms. A light, clean and modern palette enhances the open quality of the space with accents of steel that wrap around the form of the desk. An outdoor patio in front of the building acts as a further connection to passersby and enhances that desire to reach into the community beyond the office walls.
